TradingView Bar Replay, and similar features inside charting tools
Free or near-free, and you probably already use one. Replay is a secondary feature rather than the product, so nothing is recorded and no statistics are produced.
Forex Tester, FX Replay, and other purpose-built replay platforms
Built for manual backtesting specifically. This is the category BacktestFlow competes in directly — the differences are forex focus, execution-discipline metrics, and what has to be installed.
Tradervue, TradesViz, TraderSync, TradeZella and similar
Strongest at importing and analysing trades you have already taken, usually across many asset classes. Backtesting is a feature alongside journaling rather than the centre of the product.
MetaTrader Strategy Tester, QuantConnect, and scripting-based tools
The right choice when your strategy can be fully expressed as code. They test a specification across thousands of trades. They cannot test a discretionary strategy, because a discretionary strategy is not a specification.
A dedicated replay backtester for forex only, where the journaling and the statistics are not a separate step. You replay the chart and place trades; the record and the~35 metrics build themselves as a by-product.
That focus is a real trade-off, and it is worth stating plainly: if you trade multiple asset classes, need tick-level precision, or want to import trades automatically from a broker, other tools in the list above will serve you better today.
